What would you do if your co-worker did more personal web surfing on his office computer than actual work?
While I do surf the web for personal purposes but only at times when I need to make a quick check on something. That wouldn’t amount to more than 30 minutes in a week. But this former co-worker of mine is different. He did it almost all the time.
I didn’t want to tell our former manager about it. I’m not that kind of person. What I did was I once kidded him about it. I told him straight to his face but in a humorous way. Sadly, I don’t think he took me seriously. What could I expect? I used humor.
I sometimes wished that our (former) manager would catch him in the act. I wasn’t wishing him any harm, I just wanted what’s good for him and the company, too. He’s not being productive in his job because of all those wasted time surfing non-work related stuff. He has a job to do and I just wanted him to do it right because it would affect all of us in the long run considering that we were a team at that time.
How about you? What would you do?

Hhmmmm if he’s an agent and he takes calls then he shouldn’t be surfing at all.
Why not tell your boss or manager that you saw some agents surfing the web during office hours but don’t drop any names. That way, during one of your team meetings, he can remind the whole team not to do it again. I took calls before too and I did exactly that.
Hope this helps.

*LOL* sorry about my previous comment. I’m not really sure if your boss/manager/supervisor is a male or a female

I’m going to say that it depends on his performance, if it’s good then how cares but if he is not doing well in time he will go if the company is watching the performance of all the staff. Here is a good software that I used in the past to watch agents and a friend of mine also uses it. This will monitor the agents computer with out them knowing and send a report to the manager at the end of the telling him what the agent surfed.

I’ll leave the “humor” part in my basement, for sure.
I am a very tolerant person, you know. But when it comes to works that have to be done, I’d prefer do it in an all-out mode until the last minutes, rather getting myself mixed up between work-and-pleasure.

As long he/she doesn’t affect your performance, time will tell, his/her work performance will be visible to the management.
Happy New Year! ^^
